Patience with my TWA

Patience is a virtue right? Umm, okay! Some folks are satisfied with their short hair, others with long, and others yet talk about the frustrations off longer hair. Well I have been natural for going on 12yrs, I don't even remember my anniversary so I celebrate it on my birthday January 11th, knock them both out in one shot!  Anyway back to long hair, I want it back.  The frustrations are understood, I want them back; the labor is understood I want it back; the fact that I might punch myself silly & throw my dermatitis unto remission (not a bad thing) is understood.  I WANT MY LONG HAIR BACK! My life is bland dull and quite boring without it, well it's not that serious, still, I refuse to kick rocks!! Don't get me wrong I love my TWA, I love not waking up and hour earlier just to fix my hair, but as times rolls on I want my long hair back! I absolutely love twists, braid outs, and protective styling.  Maybe this is the reason why I haven't given any tutorials on my TWA as of yet because I'm just not up for the grabbing and trying to fit my hair into a style, that it just doesn't want to be in!  I prefer to moisturize throw on my satin scarf and my Tam and head out the door.

I cut my hair a total of three times in 12yrs.  (I never BC, I transitioned with extensions) The first two times was because I did not have the proper knowledge on how to take care of my tresses.  I knew nothing of proper moisturizing, detangling, or protective styling.  The third time wasn't regretful, I woke up one day in 2008 & decided I wanted a Mohawk! It was the first hair cut I did not have second thoughts about, the first time I didn't necessarily care for long hair, the first time I cut it because I wanted to, and not because I thought I had to!  The first stylist cut my hair way to low, and he was not very professional.  Later I found another stylist that was extremely skillful in shaping my hair into a work of art!  After I decided that I wanted to grow it back, it was shaped into a beautiful Ceaser, in order to grow evenly.  I loved the feeling of water spraying onto my scalp in the shower and the feeling of wind on my short crop. I continued to maintain it short, until I finally gave up the clippers. I have learned much about my hair and scalp in my Mohawk/Ceaser period & I can say that my hair will grow healthier now than it ever has before! I crave length again - well till next time!
